Pregnancy after iud

Dh and I are planning for our third. I currently have an iud in place and hoping to get it removed in the near future(1-2wks from now). Have any of u had an iud and how long did it take u to get abfp after it was removed? I've had my iud for 13 months and have not had a period for 10months. dh and I were also considering an alternative birth control.<-- do u think that's necessary? we want to wait until the end of the year to get abfp (I know u can't just snap ur fingers and become pregnant and be preggo when u want this is all ideally ...I have also heard it can take up to a year for some after the iud was removed to get abfp .. I of course plan on discussing this with my ob but thought id ask all of u for your thoughts!)Thanksin advance!!! :0)
