U/S at 6 wks - too early to see anything?

My U/S is scheduled for next Tuesday and according to my calculations I'll be 6 wks 1 day.  With DS I didn't have my 1st U/S until around 8-9 wks so we very clearly saw a baby.  I'm afraid that 6 wks might be too early to see anything and just wanted to know if those mamas that have had their U/S were able to see baby at 6 wks?  And could you see/hear HB at 6 wks?  It was either 6 wks or 9 wks for the 1st U/S due to scheduling conflicts and my impatient self didn't want to wait until 9 wks........
