Ped pushing to supplement- growth deadline is Tuesday!

I took LO to the ped today and he's only gained one ounce since he last appointment 12 days ago. All his other growth measurements are excellent, but he's just not gaining weight. I feed him on demand and every 3 hours (feedings are typically 30 min) if he does not demand. I don't know what else to do. The ped said he needs to gain at least 4 ounces by Tuesday to not supplement. I really REALLY want to avoid using formula. Any ideas of what I could do to promote weight gain?  

ETA: I have a pump, but have not started pumping yet because I thought it was too soon. Any advice related to pumping would be great too. TIA!
