Do you eat deli meat sandwiches?

I was craving subway for lunch and decided to get a sandwich and have it toasted. I thought if you heated it up it was fine but the sandwich guy at subway started lecturing me about how deli meat isn't safe and he would advise me to get a meatball sub instead. I still got the sandwich but I had a hard time enjoying it after the lecture. Do you eat deli meat while pregnant?
