10 pounds in a month

i went to the dr. yesterday and they said i have gained 10 pounds in a month and they were surprised that my BP was not high becasuse I had a little protein in my urine and a "red face" I saw the mid wive instead of the dr. and she said "have you eaten alot this month or are you retaining water??? I said no actually I am still throwing up..... at times my ankles are a bit swollen but I dont think i am retaining water???this is a stupid question but I would know if I were retaining water right???
