2+ Moms question, maybe weird?

Sorry in advance if this is a bit strange but I'm too curious not to ask! I'm almost 38 weeks and have not had any leaking from my boobs this whole pregnancy. I realize this can be completely normal, however, now that I'm getting close, I'll admit to trying to express anything with my hands just to see if anything comes out and nada!

My question is, will my body just start releasing colostrum the first time baby's mouth touches my nipple? Or at this point should I be able to get something from them and since I haven't, mention it to my doctor?
