Airport travel while preg

We are going to Disney next week, leaving out of Newark airport.  I haven't flown in about 4 years don't remember what the process is even like anymore.  Question is regarding going though metal detectors and or scanners.  I am more concerned about the new body scanners that seem to be on the newer side and I wouldn't feel comfortable going though.  Do you think its easy enough to request a pat down?  I mean I am only 7 weeks, not showing don't know if that makes a difference.  I also don't know if all airports have these body scanner machines and use them all the time.  I couldn't find out much on the Newark airport site.

What have been your experience if you have traveled lately and would you go through these scanners at this point in pregnancy?
