Breastfeeding

Is this a good plan...?

So I fully intend to breastfeed once LO arrives, but I am concerned with all the horror stories I hear from women and the troubles they have had, both on here and women I know.

So I am planning on giving it a full go once I deliver, and if it works great, but there will be times when I have to be away from him in the 4-5 week range (just for a couple hours) and will need to pump. Also, should he sleep for more than 2 hours, I would like to be able to let him sleep and pump so that I do not become to engorged.

So I have registered for a really nice Medela pump, but I am sure you know those are quite pricy, so I was going to get a manual pump just to have one on hand in the begininng for the reasons listed above, and if all goes well then use the pricy electric double pump. I will probably order both at the same time, and return the unused electric one if I have issues or whatever and can't use it.

Thoughts? Just trying to prepare for everything. TIA!
