Manual Pumping Q

My DD eats, then I burp her, then I put her to sleep which takes about 40 minutes. I cannot hold her and manually pump the other breast at the same time (tried football hold, too). I cannot pump immediately after because I have to burp her and put her to sleep. 

 How do other manual pumpers do this?? I think I'll start pumping when my DH gets home from work, then he can burp and put her to sleep.
