Questions about pumping and formula..please help!

I am a ftm and having my baby on Thursday.  I have decided to pump and formula feed my baby.  Has anyone ever done this.  I dont know anything about alternating and when you should.  I honestly had no desire to breast feed but I feel like everyone I know is giving me a guilt trip because of it so I have decided I would try to pump and see what happens. 

Does this make me a bad mom?  I cant help but feel guilty!
