? for 2nd+ moms: Questions about PnP and highchair

This is kinda a strange question, but when do you actually start using a pack n play and high chair? 

I plan on getting a crib, swing, and I received a bouncer at my baby shower.  I just don't think I'll use the pack n play, even with the "newborn sleepers" they come with.  I don't think I'd use it until LO is a little older, but I'm not sure how old.  Should I just buy one now while I have my registry completion coupon or is it something I could hold off on?  Same with the highchair.  I registered for one that turns into a booster seat, but when does LO even start using the highchair at all?  Babies sure need a lot of gear, and obviously things like the highchair are needed eventually, I just don't know if I'd rather hold off and hope I can score at a garage sale or wait for BRU's baby sale.
