Trying to wean, kid refuses formula. Now what?

Hi ladies, 

DS is 10.5 months old and I am slowly trying to wean him off of BM. He has had formula before, just a few ounces and that is also what we use for his am cereals. However, last night, when I was at work, DH tried to give him a bottle of formula and the kid refused. Would scream and twitch and try to yank the bottle away from his face until DH pulled out the BM instead.

I don't know what I should do... Can I mis BM with formula and try to slowly get him used to it? he has never really had a pb before...
