Alternating breast every 4 minutes??

I met with a LC today about my oversupply and forceful letdown. LO gulps and chokes while feeding and ends up with a lot of gas. I started block feeding 2 weeks ago but it didnt seem to help. She suggested I feed the first breast for 3-4 minutes, take off, burp, second breast for 3-4 minutes, take off and burp, then back on the first breast until he unlatches himself. Has anyone heard of this? She.said.to do this for about 10-14days or until I see an improvement then I can feed one side until he unlatches, burp then offer the second side. Im just having a hard time accepting her advice because it seems to contradict block feeding. Any thoughts? tia
