Childbirth/Fitness/Weight Loss Reimbursements

Just thought this may help as I work for BCBS- There are so many benefits most members do not even know about.

Call member services with your health insurer, ask -  Do you reimburse for childbirth courses/ fitness/ weight loss? If so, how much and what forms do you need to get the money back? *This may be a good time to see what your maternity benefits cover overall as well.

For our company, you need a copy of the receipt, certificate of completion or proof of membership and a form. You send it in and the send you a check back up to a maximum  for the reimbursement. I also was able to sign up for a online benefits website that offered all kinds of discounts off of merchandise, and free baby books. 

For our company - Childbirth courses are reimbursed up to $90 for the 1st pregnancy, $45 for a refresher course. We also also have a reimbursement for the gym (up to $150 per cal year) and weight watchers (up to an additional $150 per cal year) which will be nice after the baby comes.

It takes a few minutes of your time but it is worth it!
