Non-Stress Test and Ultrasound at 40 Weeks?

Hi all,

At 39 weeks and doc thinks I will go to 41 weeks and they may have to induce... Anyways, on my "official" due date of May 9 (next wed) they are doing a non-stress test and ultrasound. What is the purpose of this and what does it tell them? Would they decide to induce earlier based on results etc? Any info would be helpful. Thanks.
