Irritable Uterus

I just got home from a trip to L&D.

I actually went to a routine dr appt and told them I was feeling some decreased fetal movement, so they sent me over to have an NST. It showed the baby was fine, but I was having some contractions. I was then sent to L&D to check for pre-term labor. I probably only had 1 or 2 real contractions within about an hour's time, and the rest was an irritable uterus. My cervix is still closed, so I'm not in active labor. The contractions didn't hurt, my uterus just got hard every time.

Anyone else experience this and was there anything you did differently after to make sure it didn't turn in to real labor?
