Missing Aortic Valve in Ultrasound

Hi everyone,

 

I am 35 weeks and had my 35 week ultrasound today. Everything was going great and everything was perfect, but they couldn't find his aortic valve. She was checking to see if it was narrow or not. The doctor said it is likely because of his positioning and the spine was blocking it, but she can't be sure. Worse case scenario is that the valve is narrow. She put in orders for an echo heart screening when he is born.

I am praying that his spine really was  blocking the view. I am wondering if anyone has had a similar experience? When I asked her if it was common to not spot it, she gave me a cryptic answer about how it's always harder to find what they're looking for in the 3rd trimester.

Any thoughts/experiences?
