are breast pumps easy to use?

My due date is June 25th. I'm planning on breastfeeding and I would like to also be able to pump. I mostly want to pump so I have more options and so I can try and build up a supply so my husband can help with feedings. We bought a Medela In-Style double electric pump. I was wondering, are breast pumps easy to use? Do you think my breastfeeding class will teach me how to use one? Will I maybe be able to learn in the hospital?
