Maternity leave at work

I work at a small company -- I told everyone I was pregnant at about 18 weeks and now that I'm closing in on my due date in July, they keep asking about how much time off I plan on taking.

I plan on working up until I'm off to the hospital to deliver. I plan on taking the normal maternity leave which is about 6 weeks. But when I tell everyone this, I feel like I receive the stink eye!  I know that I work in a small office, but there has been enough time for everyone to prepare and adjust to our work load minus me. I honestly feel like I'll be pressured into coming back to work before I'm mentally and physically prepared.

anyone else in this situation? We don't really have an HR department and I'm the first pregnant person through our office -- what do you think I should do? 

How much time are others taking off? Is it normal these days to not take 6 weeks off and just go right back to work?
