Has anyone been diagnosed with low blood platelets - gestational thrombocytopenia?

I'm just over 37 weeks and at my appointment today my Dr. told me my blood work from last week came back showing gestational thrombocytopenia. I don't know what my normal count is but this came in at 118. At this point he's telling me not to be concerned and that they'll just take blood again next week to make sure it's not trending downward. I of course came back and googled the condition and I have myself completely freaked out from scary stories about this being a symptom of preeclampsia or HELLP, babies bleeding out during the birth, blood transfusions, etc. I should've just listed to the Dr. in the first place and not worried about it but yikes. Anyone else have this or know of anyone with this? Hoping to hear some encouraging stories! TIA!
