2+ moms...any thoughts on binding your stomach after birth?

I just had a co-worker rave about binding her stomach after she had her son. She swears by it. She said to just have my Dr. write a prescription for the belly band and then also get a shaper to wear with it. She told me it really helped her stomach shrink down quicker after birth. I will be breastfeeding, and I know that will help, but am always looking for other ways to help in that area
