XP from 2nd Trimester: Could you tell?

So, my husband and I go to find out what we're having a few days before Father's Day. I don't want to know right then at the ultrasound (I want the tech to write it down on a piece of paper and put it in an envelope and then we will take it to a grocery store and have them fill a box full of blue or pink balloons, and we open it, and have someone take our picture. I just wanted to get our first real reactions on film), but I do want to look at the baby. 

My question is, for those of you who saw your baby at about 22 weeks (or whenever you went in for your anatomy scan), could you tell what gender the baby was just by looking at it? Or did you have to have the tech tell you?
