3D ultrasound... To do or not to do?

I have been itching to see my LO for a few weeks now.... I am dying to see her!!!  The last I saw her was at the 20 week u/s and now here I am, 10 weeks later and I am going crazy!!!  My DH and I had agreed not to do a 3D sonogram since we'd pay out of pocket for it but I know if I really pushed he'd cave.  My DR said that they do one at 37 weeks but man, I don't think I can wait that long . 

Here's my question.... has anyone had one and wished they hadn't?  They look so freaky when I see pics of the 3D....
