Bfing baby with a high palate

My nipples are a mess and sooo sore and it's been 6 weeks. I have an LC and she confirmed his latch looks good. She also confirmed that he has a really high palate(and I felt it too... It's high!). So she said he may be sucking my nipple up into it. Or she said I could have thrush but DS is showing no signs and I started diflucan and it hasn't helped after 9 days. So I think it's definitely the high palate that's causing this issue. My midwife prescribed nipple cream today so hopefully that works. Has anyone felt with this??? Any suggestions!! It's just so freakin painful I don't know what to do
