3rd Trimester

interesting topic for discussion- the Ashley treatment

I had never heard of this before last night. This was hanging on a bulletin board at my college along with an opinion paper by a student.

The basic info is that some parents of disabled children would like to use surgery and estrogen therapy to stunt their child's growth so they are easier to care for, and claim it prevents them from the discomforts of large breasts and menstrual bleeding and cramping. These "pillow angels" are children that never go past the mental or physical capacity of an infant.

This was ruled illegal, and I can definitely understand why- but it's also obvious that these parents want this in order to take better care of their child. WDYT?
