Squeezing or pinching the boob

DD has been squeezing or pinching the boob when she eats. It isn't out of frustration or letting me know she is done. She has recently discovered that she has fingers (not just hands) and is doing all kinds of things with them.

I want to encourage her to use her fingers, but man, she is pinching hard. When she used to bite, I would unlatch her, say "biting ouch," and relatch. That worked very well and she no longer bites.

Should I do something similar with the pinching? It seems weird to unlatch her for pinching. What do you do to get them to stop?
