mastitis??

i just had my baby 9 days ago.  I am pumping mostly.  Last night out of the blue, I woke up from a short nap with the chills. I was freezing. I took my temp and it was 101.5.  I called the on call doc and all she did was say to take tylenol every 4 hours.  I'm assuming its an infection (either Mastitis or from my c-section..hoping not my c-section).  My right breast was really sore to touch yesterday morning, but it got better after I pumped.  If you had Mastitis, what were your symptoms?  What did they do for you and how was it diagnosed?
