How long is your typical nursing session

I know this is different for everyone and every baby, but I can't help but ask. DD was usually averaging 15-20+ minutes per side, per feeding. We were using a shield.The last few days we seem to have broken the shield, and now she's only nursing 10-15...and sometimes 8 or 9 minutes per side.

Is this within the range of "normal"? Can ditching the shield make that much of a difference? Or does it sound like something else is going on?

She generally seems happy and satisfied...but this evening nursed only 18 minutes total and would fuss/cry if I tried to get her to eat more even after burping, yet she is not seeming satisfied. Ugh...
