Day 1, pain during nursing

I know it's normal to have some pain while we're learning but I feel like there could be an answer to this other than just getting used to it. 

Its slightly uncomfortable on my right nipple, but not necessarily painful. My left one  however has a good amount of pain while she sucks. Her lips are flared out and as far as I can tell she has enough aereola in her mouth. Is there something else I can check? Maybe she just needs more boob in her mouth? I will be seeing my midwife again in two or three days and will ask her opinion but until then...
