Thrush Treatment: Nystatin plus another anti fungal?

I need to start treatment for thrush. The pediatrician has called in nystatin for DS and said that I could apply it to my nipples too. I'm not sure how much the prescription is for though (haven't picked it up yet) and I'm wondering if I should use an additional anti fungal such as lotrimin or monistat as well. If so, any recommendations? Do I need to wipe off any residue prior to the next feeding? TIA!
