RP xp 2nd tri: Carseat Troubles - STMs+

I need some suggestions.  DD1 is almost 3 and weighs nearly 40lbs.  We have a tall vehicle (Ford Expedition) with bucket seats in the back.  This is my 3rd pregnancy, and I'm much bigger than the last 2 and my body feels like it's falling apart faster...ha!  My daughter has trouble climbing into the vehicle and even once she's in the vehicle, the carseat is so tall in the bucket seat that she can't climb in.  I've been lifting her from the ground and putting her into her seat myself, but it's really starting to hurt my uterus to lift her so high. Today I actually feel somewhat sore from hoisting her in there this morning.

Does anyone have any suggestions? 

I'd rather not buy her a new seat because this one is a Britax and we spent a small fortune on it. (Although if it were a booster that she could get into herself that was still safe for her weight/height I wouldn't be totally against it.)
