Low Amniotic Fluid...anyone experience this? I'm worried :(

Hey everybody, I just went for my 38 week appointment yesterday and the Ultrasound showed his amniotic fluid is measuring low and my doctor says she might decide to induce labor.  They hooked me up to a fetal monitoring device for half an hour & everything seemed normal.  But now I have to go back on Friday and re-test the amniotic fluid levels and his heart rate again.  They told me to up my water intake but I'm already drinking over a gallon a day!  If they don't decide to induce on Friday I'll have to go back twice next week for the same testing.  Anyone have any experience with this?  What is the likelihood that they will induce labor?  And if they induce does that mean they are more likely to go straight for a C-section?  FTM so any advice would be appreciated
