Mirena and breastfeeding?

Hi everyone

I went in for my 6 week pp visit yesterday and planned to discuss Mirena with my midwife as my new form of birth control. She informed me that they do not give mirena while you are breastfeeding. I have a co-worker who used mirena a couple of years ago while bf. but maybe things have changed.

Anyone else encounter this?
