timing future pregnancies/c-sections?

i know my dr has said to wait 2 years before getting pregnant again (ideally) to give the body time to get back to normal, but we wanted our kids to be 1.5-2 years apart in age, so i doubt we'll wait that long. 

in terms of having had a c-section and getting another does anyone know if theres higher risk if you wait say 8 mos to a year versus waiting longer to get pregnant again? Thanks!
