Digestive Issues - How Close?

I have had some "digestive issues" that started Thursday and have gone up a notch today.  I also had a few fake contractions this weekend.  I have 10 days until my due date and will get checked on Wednesday to see if I am dialated.  I know that digestive issues can come before labor, I just wondered the timeline of what other women experienced from when they had the issues to when they went into labor.  I have a lot on my workload at work and wondereing if I need to speak with my manager about re-assigning some of my projects.
