hour long sonogram?

So, I have a sonogram scheduled for Monday. Don't get me wrong, I'm super excited to see my little guy, but the lady who scheduled it said this one takes longer than normal..about an hour. What all are they checking for?

Is this a normal thing? I'll be 32 weeks and just wasn't sure what to expect.

Edit: I have had a very healthy (thankfully) pregnancy and am not considered high risk.
