Period cramps == labor, right?

I guess I need to start paying more attention as to how long it lasts & stuff but I'm forgetting. Cramps like period cramps are just growth right? 

I went into labor with DS early and I remember my whole belly feeling pressure as well as back pain.

...we just went grocery shopping & as we were walking out DS darted in the parking lot between cars. I bolted after him and grabbed him before he got too far but sorta feel like I tweaked something in the vag area
