Pumping early

I started pumping when LO was 3 days old. He was latching but not pooping a lot so I was concerned that he wasn't getting enough milk. I started pumping so I could know for sure and measure how much he was drinking. Anyway would there be any concerns I should be aware of with me pumping so early? So far I nurse him and bottle feed the milk I pump. He is pooping regularly now. I hope I'm not just super paranoid looking for issues!
