Gestational Diabetes HELP!

Hi ladies I am looking for any information I can about it. I got diagnosed with it yesterday and only got so much information about it on the phone when I got my results they are suppose to be calling in the next couple days to set up and appointment with a diabetes educator and a dietitian. These are a few questions I have....

What are some foods that are good or ok to eat?!

They talk about doing biometric monitoring of the baby after 35 weeks what exactly is that?

Will they let you go overdue when you have GD?!

TIA in advance this is my 3rd pregnancy but first trip with this and I am so nervous anything helpful I will be happy hear! I am gonna ask more questions at my next appt on Tuesday but I am just trying to figure things out in the mean time.
