For those having a planned c-section...

I am going to ask at my next appt but was curious. For those having a planned c-section, when did your OB's say to call them as far as contractions? I know if my water breaks, I obviously need to call in but what about contractions? Is it if I am having so many an hour? Do they need to be regular? I am assuming they don't want you in active labor. Is that correct?
