Maternity Clothes - How far along were you when you bought them?

How far along were you when you had to break down and buy maternity clothes?  I'm trying to wait as long as I can, but my jeans are getting uncomfortable, especially when I sit! 

Also, for those of you that already have kids, how often did you find yourself having to buy bigger maternity clothes throughout pregnancy?  I'm wondering how long they will last once I buy some that fit now.  Do you buy big and grow into them?
