Headaches, rib pain & meds, please help!!!

Ok, I've been having really bad headaches for the last few weeks - so my doctor wrote me Fioricet, which I've taken a time or 2 but I don't like the way it makes me feel. Now the headaches have been accompanied by severe rib pain, like someone punched me and there bruised. Let me say that yes, this is my first pregnancy. Well, I couldn't get through to my doctor this morning so I took 1/2 a Lortab (5mg)...now I feel so guilty. What is all this pain, is it normal and how do I get rid of it without taking something like Lortab and is Lortab even safe?
