Cramping

So at 1 am this morning horrible cramps woke me up. I mean horrible. It was like period cramps. I thought maybe I had to use the bathroom even tho it didn't really feel that way. Went to the bathroom, nothing. This morning I woke up fine, been up for 30 min now and I am having them again. 

This isn't the first time I have them. About 2-3 weeks ago it was really bad. So bad, that the pain gave me sort of a hot flash (if that makes sense). After that I didn't feel the baby for a week. I told DH and he immediately took me in to get checked. Everything turned out fine.

I hate to freak out over everything and I know every pregnancy is different, but these horrible period like cramps are a little scary.

Any advice??
