Would you offer to throw a shower?

I have a friend/ acquaintance whose baby is due 2 weeks before mine (mid-June). As far as I know, no one has offered to throw her a baby shower, and I feel a bit bad because I will be inviting her to mine, along with some mutual friends/ acquaintances. I am considering offering to throw her a shower, but the only time that I would be able to do it would be in early June, and she is due in mid-June. I am not sure if I should even offer because of the following concerns-

(a) I will be 3-4 weeks from MY due date. I am not sure how people feel at this time in their pregnancies, since this is my first pregnancy. Do you think that I'd feel up to it?

(b) She will be 2 weeks from HER due date. I am not sure if she will feel up to it, and I suppose she could have even had her baby by then.

What would you do?
