Left-sided groin pain?

Hi ladies, I am 16w2d and started having these annoying bursts of mild pain since about 4-5 this afternoon.  No bleeding and doesnt feel like cramps.  Can't quite describe it other than it being a small burst of dull pain to the left side of my groin, just shy of my hip.  No other symptoms to report, but I was wondering if anyone else had experienced something like this?  (May be round ligament pain?  Although what I have read about that claims it will be on the right side.  PS-This is my 1st pregnancy, so I'm feeling a little nervous).
