Shortened Cervix??

So, I went to the Dr. this afternoon to have an ultrasound to rule out gallbladder issues as a reason for my sore rib area. That checked out fine. Of course (and thankfully) they're thorough and decided to look at baby and everything else. Turns out, my cervix is measuring at 2.8. The doctor didn't seem TOO concerned, but said NO exercise, call if there's any bleeding/cramping, and to come back in a week. She said if my cervix measured around 2.5 next week, I'd have to go on bedrest. Have any of you had to deal with this? Has anyone gone to term knowing that they were lower than 3.0 early on? Sorry about all the questions - I JUST got back and my head is whirling...
