diaper vent-opinion please.

My friend came over last night with her 3 month old. My MIL was in the living room with us while we were talking anyways so i said i think you need to change his diaper (my nephew). My friend says, i dont really change his diaper all the time until it gets really full because she said its a waste. My MIL puts her 2 cents in and says to me, you would change the diaper everytime with a tone of it being so wrong. I'm not sure about anyone else but just thinking about my baby sitting in pee for a long period of time doesnt sit well with me not to mention makes me think of diaper rash.

Am I wrong? what do you think or when do you change your babies diaper?

I was pretty pissed and said well its my first I'll have to see how i would prefer to handle that but as of right now the fact that my baby is going to sit in pee does not sit well with me.
