I would like to not have to do the standard "drink the sugar water" glucose test.
First, that much sugar I know would make me feel ill because my body isn't used to it; I already know the rest of my day will be shot after drinking that stuff. And second, since I eat very little sugar, I wonder if my body would react with a false positive. (And regardless of the outcome, I don't foresee much changing, since I already try to eat along the lines that I've seen recommended for women diagnosed with gestational diabetes: lower-carb, low sugar, etc..)
Do you know if there's an alternative? Such as the A1C test? Home glucose strips and return the results to the doctor? Etc?
