Elective ultrasound!

Hubby and I decided to do an elective ultrasound THIS Thursday!! I will be exactly 17 weeks and couldn't be more excited! We plan on telling our family in person the following evening, which will be a complete surprise as they do not know we are finding out. Do you have any suggestions on surprising them with the news? My mom is THE BEST person to surprise in the world. You should have seen her reaction to getting a surprise subscription to Woman's World on Christmas a few years back, haha. She's so much fun

Oh, and if you had an elective ultrasound, can you share your experience and how far along you were? Thanks!
