Gender Reveal Party

I?m thinking about throwing a gender reveal party for the weekend after we find out what this little one will be.  That doesn?t leave us with much time since we?d have the party March 24, but I?m up for the challenge.  I?ve never been to a reveal party; I was wondering what would be appropriate to have for food.  Do people typically offer a meal or do munchies/desserts.  Do you ladies have any suggestions for food options?  I'm also wondering depending on your responses what time of day/evening would be most appropriate!
